Melanie Carter
Melanie Carter is a skilled litigator and creative problem solver, with a broad practice of complex civil litigation, class action defense, mass torts, product liability, and environmental litigation. She achieves favorable outcomes for her clients in litigation, trial, and settlement negotiations, and helps clients mitigate risk before litigation arises.
She began her legal career as a federal law clerk. Prior to law school, Melanie worked in public education through Teach For America, through which she taught students in New Orleans, and managed and trained teachers in Philadelphia and Camden.
Melanie lives in Philadelphia with her husband and two cats. She studied music (classical piano) and poetry in college and infused the arts into her classrooms when she was an educator. ArtWell’s mission resonates deeply with her.
