Jason H.S. Nadelbaum
An educator for two decades, Jason knows firsthand the transformative power of youth arts, especially when young people are given space to control their narratives. As a teenager, he was a member of the first two Philly Youth Poetry Slam Teams, beginning the trajectory of being an artist, educator, and organizer, that would lead him to being a co-organizer of Massachusettts' first-ever state-wide youth poetry slam festival.
As a professional arts educator, he has taught students of all ages, on topics ranging from poetry to playwriting, comic books to improv comedy, middle school wrestling to adult English as a Learned Language. He most recently served as Education Manager for First Person Art's VIP Storytelling Program, helping students harness their voice and their narratives.
As an artist, his MFA is in poetry. However, he mainly writes prose, shaped by his work as a poet and jokester. He is currently working on revising and selling a book length memoir, “Kibitzing in the Oncology Ward: A Family Copes and Doesn't.”
