Learning Session: Building Community Through the Arts
On Wednesday, February 25th at 12-1 PM ET we'll meet virtually to explore the connection between artmaking and community building in classrooms and beyond. This session will begin with an unveiling of our new mission statement, then examine ways in which ArtWell’s programs–We the Poets, The Art of Growing Leaders, EcoArts, and our newly redesigned MasterPeace program–offer building blocks for human connection at a time when it’s needed most.
To deepen the conversation, ArtWell will welcome Dr. Monique Liston, Founder and Chief Strategist of UBUNTU, for a powerful reflection on Beloved Community—a vision of collective care, justice, and shared humanity that calls us to live and lead with love.
Drawing on her expertise in education and social transformation, Dr. Liston will engage participants around the concept of Beloved Community and how it can be practiced in our classrooms, organizations, and everyday relationships. This talk will invite us to consider how creativity, compassion, and accountability work together to foster environments where all people are seen, valued, and supported.
