Nella Rohan is an incisive wordsmith in the mediums of film journalism, poetry, and narrative nonfiction who has been writing professionally since 1998. Nella, who often produces work under the pseudonym Nella Fitzgerald, attended UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television where she earned a Master’s degree in Cinema and Media Studies. She is a trauma-informed educator, instructing primarily high school students in film and media studies, and creative writing. She enjoys sharing her love for the arts and empowering students to think critically about the media they consume and how to process the messages with which they are being presented.

Nella maintains a robust involvement in arts and literary worlds. She has previously worked as a Staff Writer for Shadow and Act, and she is currently working on a collection of personal essays and is planning to launch podcast in November 2022. Nellal is also a member of Art House Convergence, a national organization of independent cinema professionals. She resides in the Brewerytown section of North Philadelphia, with her brilliant and talented teenage daughter.
